The Guidance Department at Hazelwood West offers a variety of services. It's primary service is to assist each student in his/her continued developmental, educational, and vocational growth. Thus, the student receives information about developing positive self-concepts and interpersonal skills as well as assistance in planning and adjusting his/her classes. The student also gains information about careers and receives assistance in seeking financial aid and scholarships for his/her post-secondary education. The HWHS Guidance department welcomes you to our website. Please take advantage of all the information provided. On this home page, you will find a calendar with deadline dates for ACT and varies events the HWHS Guidance office is hosting.
Homework Requests: If a student has been or will be absent for more than 2-3 days or if they have been suspended out of school, it is the STUDENT'S responsibility to request homework from the teachers. To request homework please contact teachers through parent portal. Give them at least a days notice before picking up the work.
After School Tutoring:
When: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays
Where: Hazelwood West High School IMC
Time: 2:35PM - 4:20PM.
Requirements: 1. Must arrive at 2:35PM
2. Must have work to be completed.
3. Must remain in IMC the entire time.
On Thursday, February 9, West High will be hosting our 3rd annual Curriculum Fair from 6:00 – 8:30 pm. This will consist of an informational meeting in the large gym at 6:00 for current 9th, 10th and 11th grade students and families. Following that meeting, we will be offering an informational meeting for students enrolling in AP/Honors/Pre-AP classes in the IMC at 6:30. At 7:00 we will be hosting a NCAA meeting in the auditorium. Also at 7:00, we will have an informational meeting for incoming 9th graders in the large gym. Meanwhile, during all of this, we will be hosting our curriculum fair in the commons and counselors will be in the small gym to assist families with course registration.
